BS 476 Fireproof Calcium Silicate Board

PHYSICAL FEATURES

Fire Resistance

The most important requirement in any building is fire safety. To this end, HBD provides excellent protection from fire and out performs all other building material's results achieved in standard fire tests contained in various parts of British Standard- 476. HBD Calcium Silicate Boards have Class-1 Surface Spread of Flame with Ignitability as "P"- not easily ignitible, hence can provide good fire resistance in the range of 30 minutes to 240 minutes, depending on the construction design. The fire test methods used are:

Non-Combustibility

Building materials are classified as either non-combustible or combustible according to their behavior when tested to BS 476-Part - 4:1970. This test provides a measure of the propensity of materials to generate heat and flames under standardized heat exposure conditions. It represents the highest and most stringent standard for the fire performance of materials. HBD Calcium Silicate Board has gone through this test and has been rated as Non-Combustible by CBRI, Roorkee.

Surface Spread Of Flame

This test, as specified in BS-476-Part-7: 1971, is used to determine the tendency of materials to support the spread of flame across their surfaces. Materials are classified Class-1 to Class-4, in descending order of performance. These classifications are applied mainly to wall and ceilings. In this test too, HBD passed with the highest rating of Class-1.

Class A Incombustible Fiber Cement Sheets

Fiber cement board is fireproof. It has got A1 certificate which can valid in international markets. During the A1 test, observed and established that HBD board could resist to fire for 120 minutes. Board density is approx 1300 – 1400 kg/m. An average of 10mm cladding fiber cement are used in thickness. However, instead of plaster it was fiber cement, in that case we would need 30 – 40mm parget. And sould not to forget that parget shelf weight is 2000 kg/m. Fiber cement is lighter than plaster cladding . In plastered building work negligible in terms of the risk of earthquakes leads to weight gain. Summaries are adding a risk of earthquakes in fiber cement additional terms covering the building.Fiber cement multiple sheets can be painted with any water based acrylic paint easily if desired.

Fiber cement sheets of any nature as the interior and exterior coating materials and can be easily used in almost every detail of the building. Shaped sheets with desired dimensions can be used as all or administered as fugal. Fugal plates laid at various line intervals to provide different views.
