Main difference between Magnesium Sulphate Board and Magnesium Oxide Board

Compare with Magnesium Oxide Board,Magnesium Sulphate Board prevent the humidity absorption becuase of its chemical features.

Magnesium Oxide Board is made of magnesium oxide,magnesium chloride(MgCl2),perlite,chip,non-woven fabric,fiberglass mesh.

When magnesium chloride react with magnesium oxide,it may not react completely with each other and led to come out to the surface of the board,magnesium chloride itself has the function of moisture absorption,so it will absorb water from the air because of the extra unreacted magneisum chloride,make the board become very damp and affect the life span.

Magnesium sulfate board, also known as MgO sulphate board or MgSo4 board, is widely used in building construction in recent years, its biggest advantage is not to absorb moisture back to halogen, and there are many sources of magnesium sulfate, including the reuse of industrial waste acid.The main raw materials of magnesium sulfate board are magnesium oxide, magnesium sulfate, perlite, halogen, fiberglass mesh and so on.
Because the main raw materials of Magnesium sulfate board are MgO and MgSO4,it widens the application areas of the board. Magnesium sulfate board overcome the problems of original MgO board,like moisture absorption back to halogen, easy to warp deformation.
According to the different raw material and technology, MGO sulfate board can be divided common mgo board and sanding mgo board.

Mgo Sulphate Board Application and Finishes

Mgo sulphate board has a square edged, smooth finish front side and sanded texture on the reverse. The board is suited for ceiling, partition, internal walls, external walls and flooring. All wall finishing’s are suited to be painted, tiled, wallpapered, stucco, laminate and rendered, and with flooring it can be finished with tiles, linoleum and carpet.

 Mgo Sulphate Board Application:

- Wet areas. The waterproofing requirements of all relevant codes, standards and regulations must be met. Water proofing membranes according to manufacturer’s specifications and application methods must be consulted and complied with.

- On order addition thicknesses available are 3mm, 4mm, 6mm, 8mm, 9mm, 10mm, 15mm, 18mm and 20mm. Each thickness has its own “Flexibility” tolerance to suit.

-Painting. The use of a sealer coat, preparation undercoat and sanding is strictly recommended prior to any application of paint. Always follow the paint manufacturer’s recommendations for paint suitability, mixing instructions and applications.

MgO Sulphate board has very low carbon footprint and it can be recycled or re-purposed. It contributes to clean landfills since it is classified as a mineral and when ground to powder becomes a valuable soil amender.

15mm High Density Floor boards are being utilised as a standard form of flooring for suspended flooring systems and more recently, Access Panels. The density of the floor boards together with the sizes used on the suspended floor enable an alternative costing solution for the market.

 15mm HD fibre cement floor boards not only meet the Class 1 fire ratings but also the prevention on condensation. It is suitable for access panels that require tiling as the preferred finish of choice due to its ability to work well with “keying” compounds. This is of major benefit as most imported access panels arrive with a laminated finish to the surface of the panel itself, making it difficult to apply tiling materials.

15mm HD fibre cement floor boards have been used as an alternative to current access floor panels. Quite often, the conventional access panels are imported so as to meet specification requirements for such a flooring system.
