Drywall board and Fiber cement board

Have you considered  cement board installation for your home? Help protect your walls from water damage with  cement board drywall.
Unlike standard drywall, which is prone to water penetration and damage,  cement board are designed to better endure some moisture exposure. While not waterproof,  cement board are moisture-resistant and often installed in areas of the home where occasional moisture is expected, such as bathrooms and basements.
Standard drywall is made of the mineral gypsum. Gypsum is mixed with water, starch and paper pulp to create sheetrock. The sheetrock is then surrounded by a paper covering. When water penetrates sheetrock, it causes the sheetrock to lose firmness and crumble, and may even lead to mold and mildew growth. The best way to repair water-damaged drywall is to replace it.

Cement board is a type of drywall composed of cement and a glass-fiber mesh covering. It is highly durable and more water-resistant than green board. Cement board is typically used in areas of the home expected to experience significant, direct water exposure.
